Once logged in to the parent portal, parents and guardians can manage their child's lunch accounts by following these directions.
From time to time, taxpayers have questions about possibly being exempt from paying Per Capita, Adult Resident, Occupation Assessment, and Local Service taxes, also called “nuisance taxes.” Information about age and income exemptions can be found in the attached chart. If a taxpayer qualifies for an exemption, it is his/her responsibility to file the paperwork, during the specified window, to the Capital Tax Bureau. The school district does not physically collect the taxes, maintain the tax rolls, or mail tax notices. If you believe you are exempt, please check the chart, below, and pay careful attention to the age and income exclusion rules, and to the deadlines and frequency for filing the required forms to the Capital Tax Bureau. The forms can be obtained online at http://www.captax.com/, by clicking on the “Individual Taxpayer” tab, or by contacting the local Capital Tax Bureau office at 2209 North Center Ave, Somerset, PA 15501 or (814) 701-2475. All tax payment questions should be directed to Capital Tax Bureau and not to the District. Please share this information with Somerset Area School District taxpayers who might qualify!
