  • Eagle View Elementary is ringing in the New Year with a new School-Wide Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support system called “Soar to Success”.  By implementing these new School-Wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (SWPBIS), we are creating a safer and more effective school environment for our students and staff.

SWPBIS is based on the idea that students learn appropriate behaviors in the same way they learn to read—through instruction, practice, feedback, and encouragement. Eagle View Teachers are taking the time to teach and model expected behaviors in 6 major areas of the school: Common Areas (hallway, foyer, and stairways), Classroom, Bathroom, Buses, Cafeteria, and Playground.  In all 6 areas students are expected to Be Respectful, Work Hard, Make Good Choices, and to Be the Best They Can Be.

All Eagle View staff is on the lookout for students who are exhibiting these school wide expectations as well as those who go above and beyond what is expected of them.  We recognize those positive behaviors daily by handing out Soar Tickets.  The Soar Tickets are part of an incentive program and are entered into a weekly drawing where students can win various prizes. Mr. Anderson and Mr. Coder hold the Golden Tickets and are looking for students who display a selected character trait. Students who earn a Golden Ticket receive a pizza party during lunch.

On January 4th, Eagle View held a Soar to Success kick off assembly to get the student body excited and aware of the program.  Four of our own high school students, Jake Heiple, Jillian Svonavec, Chandler Marteeny, and Dylan Barnes, came to speak about Eagle View’s new expectations. They talked about how Being Respectful, Working Hard, Making Good Choices, and Being the Best You Can Be has shaped their lives. Eagle View students were very interested and excited to hear from those students who they see as role models.

The new School-Wide Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support team is excited to watch Eagle View Elementary Soar to Success in 2016!
