Pre-Kindergarten Informational Night and Application
PRE-K INFORMATIONAL NIGHT AT
MAPLE RIDGE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
The Somerset Area School District and the Community Action Partnership for Somerset County are holding an informational night for their 2018-2019 pre-k programs. Please join us to learn how these two programs are joining together to provide pre-k experiences for Somerset School District residents. Families of children ages 3-4 are welcome to attend and apply. Please bring any 2017 income information (W-2s). You must provide this information for enrollment. You will complete an application that evening. If you would like to complete the application ahead of time, there is a link below. Once your application is submitted, you can sign up for a registration time in April.

Where: Maple Ridge Elementary School All-Purpose Room
April 25, 2018, 11:30 AM – 7:00 PM
April 26, 2018, 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM

Notice to Exiting Students Regarding Destruction of Special Education Records
Special Education records, which have been collected by the Somerset Area School District related to the identification, evaluation, educational placement, or the provision of the Special Education in the district, must be maintained under state and federal law for a period of seven years after Special Education services have ended for the student. Special education services end when the student no longer is eligible for services, graduates, completes his or her educational program at age 21, or moves from the district. Student files will be destroyed ten years after the student exits the Somerset Area School District
After ten (10) years, the records are no longer useful to the district, but they may be useful to the parent/guardian or former student in applying for Social Security benefits, rehabilitation services, college entrance, etc. The parent/guardian or eligible (adult) student, who reached 18 years of age, may request a copy of the records in writing or in person at the following address.
School Immunization Regulations
The Department of Health has changed school immunization regulations and Somerset Area School District wants to give families plenty of time to ensure their children have received the required vaccines, listed below.
Children in ALL grades (K-12) need the following immunizations for attendance:
7th through 12th grade students need to meet ADDITIONAL immunization requirements for attendance:
