Literacy & Language AcquisitionReading Specialist PK-12IU 8 - ESL Specialist PK-12I have been working in the profession of teaching since graduating from Slippery Rock in May of 1994. I have worked in urban, rural, and international settings. I have traveled abroad both as a student and a teacher to Spain and Mexico, including an exchange program when I worked in Kentucky. I have taught all age children, but I have spent most of my time teaching upper levels as my expertise involve language acquisition and literacy. I have experience prepping students for standardized national exams in Spanish. I have a strong background in learning styles and instructional design thanks to my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. I have a broad background in learning difficulties as it pertains to reading and language acquisition thanks to my coursework at WVU and reading clinic supervision and internship. I have three children and enjoy being active and learning new things.
