    WOOD TECHNOLOGY I (9071)
     
    Semester 5 Pds/Wk. .5 Credit Grade 8, 9

    Prerequisites: Wood Technology or Metal Technology.

    Course Description: Wood Technology II is an elective course designed for 9th grade students. This course is more aggressive in the use of power and stationary equipment. Students will be required to use the knowledge and skills acquired from Wood Technology or Metal Technology. This course is less progressive than the Wood Technology III course.

    Required Reading: Textbook, "Working With Wood", by Gilbert Hutchings, Eugene Martin, and Mario Coleman.

    Required Projects: Two classroom activities will be selected by the instructor for each section.

    Other Specific Course Requirements: Safety dress code and safety glasses.

    Grades Based On: (1st Six Weeks) – 75% of the grade is based on tests and sketching. 25% of the grade is based on safety quizzes.

    (2nd and 3rd Six Weeks) – 100% grade is based on one or two assigned classroom activities, safety, clean-up, and participation.
