• Forensics Speech Team

Forensics on the junior high and senior high level provides meaningful opportunities to foster strong communication skills, raise confidence levels, and develop an appreciation for language arts.

Students can elect to compete in various events.  Some of the events include prose and poetry readings, informative and persuasive speaking, dramatic interpretation, duo dramatics, and impromptu. Anyone who would like to enhance his or her public speaking skills and has an enthusiasm for the performing arts is welcome to join the team.

Students attend weekly practices and compete at district meets.  For junior high students, forensics is a fall activity with meets occurring in October and November.  Students in grades seven and nine are eligible to compete at the junior high level and students in ninth through twelfth can compete at the senior high level. Note: ninth grade members are eligible to compete in both.  The high school practices and competes during the winter months.  Students in grades 9-12 are invited to serve as judges at the Junior High Forensic meets.
