    Homework Policies

    eagle reading

Students are expected to read 20 minutes each night. I can't tell you just how important completion of this assignment is! There is a TON of research that shows that students who read 20 minutes a night grow by leaps and bounds in the areas of fluency, decoding, spelling, comprehension, and writing.

    PLEASE REMEMBER:

Homework is not meant to be punishment! Rather, homework assignments are given in an attempt to give students the opportunity to practice skills that were already introduced in class. If this practice is skipped, students' understanding of the concepts will be diminished. If your child is adamant about not completing his or her homework, it may indicate that he or she is struggling with the academic material and that practice is even more necessary.

Please be a partner with your child's teacher by insisting that homework completion is not optional.  Thank you!
