Science Project

Dear Families,

I am excited to inform you about the Mini-Science Fair your child will be participating in as an Eagle View student. We have been learning about Scientific Inquiry, researching ideas, and sharing our thoughts during our time in the gifted classroom. The website we used in the classroom was www.sciencebuddies.org. It is a fantastic tool to use, because there is a quiz that helps your child find project ideas based on his/her interests. If you have a moment, I encourage you to take the quiz yourself. It opened my eyes to some awesome project ideas!

As a group we decided to have a “Mini” Science Fair to share our ideas and research with other students. This is an outstanding way for child to watch their ideas come alive. Additionally, your child will benefit by having a unique opportunity to present his/her idea to a group of peers.

Your child will be displaying his/her project sometime during the week of March 23-27 weathering permitting. I realize living in Somerset County we must be flexible with our dates. I am also including a time line for project completion.

The project must use a free-standing, 3 partition, foldable poster board to display his/her writing, pictures, etc. There is a great deal of work involved in this project because your child will be exploring all steps of the Scientific Method.

Please return only the bottom portion with your signature. This will show me you have received your Science Project Packet and that your child has discussed his/her ideas with you. I understand this project requires family involvement and commitment. All of the students have expressed great interest and excitement about ideas, which have been researched. I appreciate all the time and effort to make your child’s Science Project a success!
