     CADD, Engineering, and Graphics I

    Grades 9-12              1 Credit

    Pathway:  Engineering, Science, and Technology

    Prerequisites: None

    Course Description: CADD, Engineering, and Graphics I. covers basic Windows, computer, and CAD terminology, Using AutoCAD software, students will learn the basics of Computer  Aided Drafting. Students are also introduced to CAD/CAM and the operation of a CNC Router and a Laser Engraver.  This activity based class sharpens problem solving skills, and uses design activities to explain how engineering is a part of everyday life. Students will design, produce, test, and analyze a variety of engineered projects.

     CADD, Engineering, and Graphics II

    Grades 10-12         1 Credit

    Pathway:  Engineering, Science, and Technology

    Prerequisites: CADD, Engineering, and Graphics I (CADD I)

    Course Description: CADD, Engineering, and Graphics II will prepare students to use 3D solid modeling software “Autodesk Inventor” and basics of 3D Printing, advanced 3D CNC Router basics and toolpath creation and an introduction to basic electrical circuits and components. This advanced activity based class introduces a wide variety of concepts, and requires problem solving skills to design, construct, test and analyze an array of design challenges. Required Reading:   Applying AutoCAD 2011,  Learning Inventor 10,  Designing with Inventor 10

    Required Projects: CADD drawings, Inventor Models, CNC Router parts, 3D Printer parts.

    Other Specific Course Requirements: Participation and presentations.
