    Course Description: This course covers basic computer and CADD terminology, basic entity creation and modification, all of which are used to produce geometric figures. Students learn to use and control accuracy enhancement tools, use geometric and non-geometric editing commands, control coordinates, display scale, and use layering techniques.

    Required Reading: “AutoCad: A Problem Solving Approach”.

    Required Projects: CADD drawings, cardboard design and CO2 car.

    Other Specific Course Requirements: Participation and presentations.

    Grades Based On: Class work, drawings, tests, class participation and projects.

    MATERIALS PROCESSING I (1373)

         Year     5 Pds/Wk.      1 Credits       Grade 10, 11, 12

    Prerequisites: Must have an interest in learning and doing.

    Course Description: The students are instructed in the basic safety habits, use, care, and maintenance of woodworking hand tools and machines. Finishing materials and their use are discussed and demonstrated. The identification of various kinds of lumber is presented to the students. Processes and products related to woodworking are demonstrated and illustrated. Introduction of print reading and making sketches is introduced.

    Required Reading: Minimum amount.

    Required Projects: A teacher assigned project to determine ability and interest of the student.

    Other Specific Course Requirements: Select and complete a project or projects. Must pay for material used for project. Supply safety glasses or goggles.

    Grades Based On: Tests, safety projects accuracy and general work habits.

    MATERIALS PROCESSING II (1374)

          Year      5 Pds/Wk.      1 Credit      Grades 11, 12

    Prerequisites: Must have successfully completed Wood Technology I.

    Course Description: The students are instructed in the basic safety habits, use, care and maintenance of the hand tools and machines. Advanced finishing methods are demonstrated and used. Woodworking processes an products related to skilled project construction are introduced and used. Working drawings and project sketches are used extensively. Woodshop II students are expected to be more skillful in craftsmanship and have a greater knowledge of the subject matter.

    Required Reading: At instructor’s discretion.

    Required Projects: Student must select a project and provide a set of plans to be approved by instructor.

    Other Specific Course Requirements: Must provide own material or pay for school material.

    Grades Based On: Tests, safety, productivity, accuracy and conduct.

    ADVANCED MATERIALS PROCESSING (1174)

Advance finishing methods are demonstrated and used. Woodworking processes and products related to skilled project construction are introduced and used. Working drawings and project sketches are used extensively. Advanced Woodworking students are expected to be more skillful in craftsmanship and have a greater knowledge of the subject matter.

    MANUFACTURING ENTERPRISE (1072)

    Prerequisites: Technical Drawing, Wood Shop I

    Course Description: The class begins with an introduction to manufacturing technology technical systems, and a look at the historical evolution of manufacturing. Students will examine the organization and management of manufacturing endeavors. Students will explore the various aspects of research and development of a product. Students will participate in the design of a product in a manufacturing enterprise situation which closely parallels the functions of a manufacturing corporation.

    CNC MANUFACTURING  (9087)

    Course Description: Students will develop a basic understanding of structures.  Through laboratory activities, students will learn how structures are designed, why certain materials are use, how structures with stand load, and the impacts of structures on societal, biological, and technological systems.
