    A little about the course:
Students can expect to receive a sampling of the literature canon in this course. Students will learn how to analyze literature and read critically through a variety of lenses.
Emphasis will be on writing using academic voice to defend readings as well as narrative pieces and poetry. Students will complete a writing portfolio upon completion of the course.
American literature will dominate the reading experience, as students ascertain what makes a work "American." Students will hear a variety of voices, each with its own brand of red, white, and blue. From rebellion and independence, to wild frontiers and lucid dreams, the American experience is unequivocally unique.
*Note: All homework assignments will be posted on the Parent Portal, not on this website.
