    A little about me...
I graduated from Somerset in 1998, and attended the University of Pittsburgh from 1998-2002 where I received a B.A. in French and Spanish.  During that time, I studied for one summer in Paris.  Then in the 2002-2003 year, I completed a Master of Arts in Teaching at Pitt, doing a teaching internship at East Allegheny High School.  Subsequently, I was hired at my alma mater.

This year, I teach all of the French classes here at Somerset.  This includes French 1-4, as well as the French portion of the World Language Expo class.  Students will have me for half of the nine weeks, and a Spanish teacher for the other half, receiving one grade from the two of us together at the end of the term.

In the past, I have also taught Spanish 1-3 at various points.  It is my goal to teach my students to speak the language fluently, while having an engaging and enjoyable class experience.  I have either led or chaperoned numerous trips to Europe with students, and am looking forward to many more.  Recently I chaperoned a trip with the French and Spanish Clubs to Paris, Madrid, and Barcelona.  We are currently planning another trip and plan to continue to do so on a four-year cyle, taking turns with other school clubs for overseas trips.  On our trips, the students experience the culture first-hand and make many memories that will last a lifetime.

In my spare time, I enjoy watching and reading science fiction and fantasy, lifting weights, running, and being active in church activities.  I am one of the coaches of the somerset Cross Country Team, and enjoy helping out at track meets in the spring.  I enjoy running, lifting weights, reading, cooking (especially French dishes), and baking bread.
